Hackautism
This hackathon takes place every year in order to help Autistic children. The group has 24 hours to produce a video and present their idea.
Our group won first place and will be a part of the Microsoft HUB 2021.
Autisleep solution
Autisleep is an app that interfaces with
a non-contact sensor (physical contact is a problem when it comes to autistic children) in order to help improve the sleep quality of children with ASD. The child’s parents may access and find what disturbs their child, what changes can be made, and how his or her sleep can be improved. In a startling fact, some 44%-83% of Autistic children suffer from sleep disorders compared to 1%-6% of the average children’s population.
The sensor
The sensor is placed under the child's mattress and transmits physiological data to the application.
The sensor measures pulse, respiratory disorders and movement. the sleep quality of autistic children by monitoring heart rate, breathing, movement, and sleep through a smart algorithm that is stored in a cloud,
The caregiver
During the day, the child's caregivers update relevant information to the app, that includes what the child ate, sleep during the day, screens exposure, medicine provided, activity, etc.
Data correlation
In the initial data presentation, all the indices appear equally.
After daily use of the app, the indices start to change and indicate the main effects on sleep.
The user can also run a filter on the data and compare specific information.
The Video
We had about 2 hours left after the mockups were done to producer the video that will represent the product in the competition:
